Added Value ServicesHours of Service Regulations Course Outline: This course will review the basic logbook skills required by every commercial truck driver. Students will learn step-by-step through the process of filling out a logbook and shown different hours of work regulations that apply in Canada and the U.S. This course covers the Regulation governing driving time, the use of Log Books and how to complete them. The course deals with border crossing and some of the paperwork associated with trucking. Transport of Dangerous Goods-Clear language Version Course Outline: This course provides simplified directions for public employees to enable them to understand and comply with the basic requirements of the T.D.G. Act and to promote public safety in the transportation of dangerous goods. The following is a brief outline of the TDG program: TDG training requirements and responsibilities, identifying labels and placards, documentation preparation and meeting the TDG requirements, Classification, Safety Marks, Dangerous Occurrences, Special Requirements. Refresher -Z Air Brake Endorsement The purpose of this course is to review air brake systems, adjustment of brakes, regulations, inspection and procedures. Z Air Brake Endorsement It is mandatory for the operator of an air-brake equipped vehicle to have a ''Z'' endorsement on their license. The purpose of this course is to review air brake systems, adjustment of brakes, regulations, inspection and procedures. It is designed to provide a refresher course for all drivers; it is not intended to serve as a certification of a driver's skills. Professional Driver Improvement Course The Professional Driver Improvement Course (PDIC) is designed for being a professional through introducing the topics of Attitude, Public Relations and all areas of the truck driving profession. Driver Competency Assessment© -DCA The Driver Competency Assessment© is a protocol to evaluate some basic driving skills of a candidate driver in vehicle. These are assessing a driver's needs; coming up with a strategy that can be implemented as a learning process in the lesson; and evaluating how well the learning took place and what should happen after that. The DCA Standardized driver assessment that measures: - Speed, Headway, Junctions, Vehicle Handling, - Dynamic Space Management and Dynamic Time Management, - As well as the effects of both external & internal distractions on driving. - An on-road assessment of a driver's ability to operate safely. - A Comparative View of the Current System Outlining Possible Amendments to Increase Road Safety. - Enhancing Safety in Commercial Vehicles through Systematic Measurement and Remediation with Lower Financial Commitment. Load Security & handling Course Outline: The purpose of this module is to enable drivers to understand the basic theory of cargo weight distribution, cargo securement on the vehicle, cargo covering, and techniques for safe and efficient loading/unloading and describe the function and operation of common cargo handling equipment. The objectives of this module are to ensure that drivers are able to load and unload cargo efficiently to ensure safety to themselves, the vehicle, the cargo and others.
